Q: WHEN WILL THE ALBATROS WELCOME GUESTS AGAIN ?

The final finishes and permissions ( Fire Safety and Food Hygiene works ) have taken longer than originally planned and the weather beat us in repainting the decks with a specialist non slip finish this autumn but are now planning to open in time for this Easter.

Q: WHAT SERVICES WILL THE ALBATROS OFFER UPON REOPENEING ?

The Albatros will initially set sail as a Bed & Breakfast, soon to be followed by the launch of our lunch menu. As the winds favor us, we'll introduce a curated bar and snack selection for your enjoyment.

Q: WHAT IS BEHIND THE WAIT FOR THE ALBATROS REOPENING ?

Restoring the Albatros has and continues to be a labor of love, which means balancing funding, resources, and time. Our journey toward reopening is on a promising course with the arrival of a new Gangway !

Once finally fully installed, connecting the quayside and the ships deck, we'll ensure safe access for all our guests. This step is crucial for us to receive the necessary approvals from the North Norfolk Council for our galley/kitchen and B&B offerings.

Q: WILL THE MUSIC EVENTS MAKE A COMEBACK TO THE ALBATROS ?

Absolutely! We're tuning up to bring back our beloved music events, aligned with licensing agreements and in harmony with Wells harbour life.

Q: WILL THE ALBATROS BE AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE BOOKINGS ?

Yes, we will welcome private bookings for special Meals and Celebrations but will not be offering her a ‘party ‘ venue because of the management of the Health & Safety Access issues and the possible implications on holding such events on a live, floating ship.

We will also be partnering with local charities in supporting themed events such as dinners, talks etc and will publish details of these as numbers will be limited and aligned again with the access and use risk assessments.

The Albatros has undergone a magnificent transformation: structural enhancements to her steel hull, fresh rigging, and a complete interior makeover including new electrical, heating, and lighting systems. Discover our newly outfitted on-suite double berth cabins, a commercial-grade galley, and the deck saloon restored to its original layout.

Plus, explore our CAPTAIN and FIRST MATE’S quarters, alongside additional forward cabins designed for comfort and adventure.

Q: WILL THE ALBATROS SAIL AGAIN ?

Yes, she will! Beyond her stationary charm, the Albatros is set to embark on maritime adventures, including routine dry dock surveys and possibly family trips, unfortunately, due to her age and Maritime Coding requirements, we are unable to offer commercial trips.
